SYNTROPIA is an animated video installation presented at the MONSTRA film festival in Lisbon. Displayed on three plastered windows in the cinema’s entrance hall, the installation features scenes from abandoned sites across Portugal, including hospitals, hotels, military stations, factories, and palaces. These locations were combined into a new space, connected by hand-drawn animations and analog timelapses that highlight temporal decay and the concept of syntropy, where chaotic states self-organize into order. The project harmonizes hectic animations and decaying architecture within a digital framework, eventually revealing the creative potential behind Lisbon’s many barricaded windows.
